Hello Parents!
I apologize for the delay! This weekend was particularly crazy, as I had some fieldwork assignments I had to complete for graduation. Here is an overview of our past week, and the awarding of Muffin Of The Week!
Monday: We were introduced to a new lesson in spelling. We learned that we can change words that end in "y", to either, " ie, or est". ( Baby, babies)
Tuesday: In music class, Emily was our fearless student leader, along with our teacher, Ms. M. We learned a new song titled, " Arriang", which is considered the unofficial national anthem of Korea. We will be performing the song on Multicultural Day, which is March 29th. If your child is interested in extra practice for the big day, here is a link to the song.

Wednesday: We enjoyed a fun gym class with Ms. Foster, where we worked on our Multicultural Day dances. Ms. Foster wants everyone to know that she will not be guiding students during their multicultural day dances. Please practice your steps for the big day!
Thursday: Ms. Frusciante read, " Westlandia", by Paul Fleischman. We are considering creating our own civilizations, where we can be as imaginative as we want. I have a feeling Jack's civilization will have lots of special powers, zombies, and of course Zelda.
Friday: We worked on " fleshing out" our opinion papers. I've heard some very interesting topics being brainstormed on, including, Hillary Clinton, school lunches, and bullying. I'm anxious for the final product! We also took a class vote on a School Community Project, where we are showcasing an act of kindness. Room 48 has decided on a food drive, details will be forthcoming.
Muffin of the Week: Hardworking. Patient. Mature. Kind. These are adjectives that come to mind when thinking of my muffin of the week....Chiara. Chiara has exemplified what it means to be a model student, a great friend, and a young girl who is VERY considerate of the feelings of others. Chiara puts 100% into every project she does, is my personal Google Docs Queen. I ALWAYS look forward to seeing her smiling face, and hearing about the best dog in the world ( Lola). You make being in Room 48 so wonderful, Chiara. YOU ARE THE MUFFIN OF THE WEEK!
