Hello Everyone,
HellOOOO Spring! Here is your weekly update, we have a lot going on in Room 48.
Monday: We continued to work on our math centers, which are a HUGE hit in our class. We have divided our class into 4 teams, as we rotate, practicing fractions while having fun. Your child is either a part of "The Emerald Witches", "The Three Musketeers", " The Dancing Gummy Bear Squad", and " The Sapphire Sorcerers". Math Centers are divided by activities, and Fraction Bingo is one of our most popular hits. Thiago, Dominic, and John are currently our reigning champions. At the end of the day, we had a mandatory classroom meeting on interrupting others while speaking, and respecting teachers and each other. Lessons that extend beyond the classroom!
Tuesday: Tuesday was and exciting day for our class. We established a " TTR", for each classroom group. TTR stands for Team Table Royal. This is a VERY coveted position, and it comes with A LOT of responsibility. TTR's are responsible for keeping the group on task, making sure table volume is appropriate, and making sure our desk areas are clean. In music, we continued to practice " Arrirang". Congratulations to Daniel for being selected to play the drums for multicultural day. There were only 4 slots available( for the entire 3rd grade), and he did an awesome job playing for our class. Go Daniel!!!!!!!
Wednesday: John and Leo have opted to give our Wednesday update!
John and Leo Speaking: John here. I just want to say, it's very fun with all my friends and teachers. Were doing a school food drive for the people with no food. We are having all the people do a job for it. Here are some examples: flyers, posters etc. Hoped you liked my words!!!
Hi people Leo speaking know and like John said we are doing a food drive and happy spring people! I really can't wait till Mrs. Kalich comes back. Also I just want to add on to John there are six different jobs and one of them is going on the loud speaker and tell every about the idea. In writing ,we are starting the opinion unit in writing. I hope you enjoyed my words!
Thursday: We are using our checklists for opinion writing! We are close to completion!!! Yesterday, Mrs. Frusciante introduced " Popcorn Story Telling". In this activity, Ms. F put on the " Ohm Machine", and started a story. The kids each took turn in extending the story, adding their own twist to it. We started the story at the beach, and ended in Mustache Land ( thanks to Jasmine).
Muffin of The Week: The decision for muffin of the week was easy this week. This muffin has been having an amazing week thus far. He is quick to help others, he is the TTR of his table, and has been helpful in keeping the noise down. While we are a small classroom, we make enough noise to drown out a G4 jet. Thank you for being such a great kid, and making positive choices. Keep up the good work Thiago Rubino!!!!! I am VERY proud of you.
